For the Intel Museum in Santa Clara, our team was tasked with designing and developing an interactive experience that was engaging and educational to visitors of all ages all while highlighting the potential of the Internet of Things (IoT.)
We created a 4x3 interactive video wall located in the heart of the Intel Museum. It showcases a stunning, immersive view of a visually rich 3D connected city teeming with life, that invites users to physically interact and develop a deeper understanding of the IoT.

What I did
I was responsible for the look and feel, animation, and all 3D modeling. I also worked closely with the UX designer to define the concept and the Developer throughout the entire build process.

I started this project by creating a mood board of inspirational imagery. This served as both inspiration for me and helped communicate to the client what kind of look and feel we were trying to achieve. Here I'm showing a variety of low-poly illustration styles.
Proof of Concept — 3D Objects
I created several test images to make sure I could achieve the look I was shooting for and to give the dev team stuff to work with while the visual design was being figured out and going through approvals. It was a lot of fun working in Cinema 4D. I created dozens of low-poly objects like these.
Proof of Concept — Transition
This is a video showing a proof of concept for the attract state transition. The idea was that in the ambient state, the city sits idle and it appears to be night time. But when a visitor approaches, the city tilts forward to reveal that it's full of life. I was going for big impact and something unexpected.
There were three sections of interactivity in this exhibit and each contained a carousel style content scroller. The content and flip animation was built using Cinema 4D, and scrolling was all done in After Effects.
